Copper plating is the most widely used pre coating in the electroplating industry, which includes tin solders, lead tin alloys, and zinc die castings. Copper plating is required before nickel, gold, and silver plating to improve the adhesion of the coating.

Copper coating is an important component of the copper/nickel/chromium system for protective and decorative coatings. A flexible and low porosity copper coating plays an important role in improving the adhesion and corrosion resistance between coatings. Copper coating is also used for local anti-seepage carbon, metalization of printed circuit board holes, and as a surface layer for printing rollers. The colored copper layer after chemical treatment, coated with organic film, can also be used for decoration. The most commonly used copper plating solutions currently are cyanide plating solution, sulfate plating solution, and pyrophosphate plating solution.

Copper (electro) plating; Electrocoppering is used for casting molds, nickel plating, chromium plating, silver plating, and gold plating as a base, repairing worn parts, preventing localized carburization, and improving conductivity. It can be divided into two methods: alkaline copper plating and acidic copper plating. Usually, in order to obtain a thin and smooth copper coating, steel and other components with oil rust removed from the surface are used as cathodes, and pure copper plates are used as anodes. They are hung in alkaline electroplating solutions containing components such as cuprous cyanide, sodium cyanide, and sodium carbonate for alkaline (cyanide) copper plating. In order to obtain a thicker copper coating, it is necessary to first perform alkaline copper plating on the plated parts, and then place them in an electrolyte containing copper sulfate, nickel sulfate, and sulfuric acid for acidic copper plating. In addition, there are cyanide free electrolytes prepared with pyrophosphate, tartrate, ethylenediamine, etc. Pyrophosphate electrolytes have been widely used.
