Graphite Electrode Considerations in Steel Mill Warehousing
The electrodes and connectors should be stored on a clean concrete floor to avoid the electrodes from touching or sticking to the soil;
electrodes that are not used for the time being, do not remove the packaging to prevent dust and debris from falling onto the threads of the connector or the end face of the electrode and the inner threads of the electrode hole.
The electrodes should be neatly arranged in the storage room, and the ends of electrode stacks should be well padded to prevent slipping, and the stacking height of electrodes should not be more than two meters in general.
The stored electrodes should be protected from rain and moisture so as to avoid cracks and accelerated oxidation of the electrodes during steel making. Do not store the electrode connector close to the high temperature to prevent the connector from bolting.
Do not store the electrode connector close to the high temperature to prevent the connector from melting and overflowing.
